The Meaning of Yoga

Verbal Root – Yuj – To Join.

Yujyate anena iti yogah” – which means, “That which joins is Yoga” .It is the joining of the individual self(Jivatma) with the universal Self (Paramatma). Patanjali Yoga is one of the six systems of Philosophy ( Sat Darshanas) in India.
