What We Teach

An Asana is any comfortable steady posture ie. “Sthiram Sukham Asanam”  which is the definition given in the Yoga Sutras. Some of these basic asanas are excellent  for enhancing health and flexibility : Standing Forward Fold (Uttanasana), Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I), Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana), Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana), Bow Pose (Dhanurasana), Dancer Pose (Natarajasana), Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana), Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana)

Pranayama is a very subtle energizing technique through certain focussed breathing patterns. Prana means life force or the vital force and Ayama means channelizing or control. Very difficult to explain the practice one has to experience under proper guidance.

Mudras, bandhas, and kriyas are Tantric tools that enable the Shakti, or individualized or differentiated energy to its source the absolute energy or pure undifferentiated energy.

A vinyasa is a smooth transition between asanas in styles of modern Ashtanga yoga. Suryanamaskar can be considered as a common Vinyasa practice though it is an ancient traditional practice.

Yoga breathing exercises builds strong, healthy lungs and therapeutic for respiratory ailments,  they strengthen the respiratory system.

Relaxation Techniques

Traditionally we have Savasana as the relaxation technique. Now for the requirements of our times various relaxation techniques have evolved like Instant Relaxation Technique (IRT), Quick Relaxation Technique (QRT) , Deep relaxation technique (DRT) , Cyclic Meditation, Mind Sound Resonance Technique (MSRT) and Yoga Nidra.

Patanjali Yoga Sutras

The Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali are a collection of 196 Sanskrit sutras on the theory and practice of yoga. Without the basic experience of Yoga and meditation it is very difficult to comprehend the sutras. They will all look like some fancy thoughts and will go above the head. They contain the essence of Yoga philosophy and techniques to understand ones mind for preparation towards higher dimensions of knowledge and meditation.
